Gardens by the bay

Just been to the Gardens by the bay last Saturday.  Got free tickets into the 2 domes courtesy of my friend's wonderful big sister. What can I say? The place is fabulously done up and I am definitely proud as a singaporean showcasing all these to the world. The flower dome have plenty of plants from different countries all growing together in a gigantic air conditioned glass dome. Amazingly cool (literally) and well kept. I definitely seen more flowers that day than all my life adds up. Then it started to rain and the place gives off another set of feeling. With rain splashing down the glass panels, the plants look like they are under a cave surrounded by waterfalls.

After that we went for tea at nearby cafe. There is quite a few restaurants and cafes along the way. What a way to relax the afternoon away. When the rain let down, we proceed to the cloud forest. When we entered, a blast of cold air greet us. This place is cold so remember your jacket. First we see the waterfall, took lots of pictures, then we went round and up to the sky walk. I was wondering why is this place called cloud forest then out from somewhere come the mist makers. Soon the whole dome is filled with cloud like mist. Indeed a walk in the clouds. All the plants here can only be found on high mountainous ranges, places where I would never go and probably won't get to see. Buy hey I saw everything now. Ha!

We went outdoor for a walk by the lake where you can see the Singapore Flyer from far. With the weather tamed after the rain, we really is in a good spirit to enjoy nature. Big sister suggested going back cloud forest to view the night scene. Why not? I am glad we went. The place was lighted up and give off another feeling after dark. I do think I like it better at night since most of these plants came from places so high they do not get much sunlight.

After we have enough of plants, its time to get carnivorous. Just a walking distance away, you can find the Satay club. Remember to order from the malay stall with the outdoor cart since they are better! I really have fun that day. Wish to come back alone again to take a slower tour of the ground.  There are description of each plants along the way but I did not get read all since I am with a big group. Till then...
