Time to smell the roses

When you are getting upset or angry over minor things,
When you are becoming too judgemental and bias on others,
When you have low self esteem and no confident to change,
When you are feeling too comfortable in life to venture out or take risk,
When the world crushes you and makes you breathless,
When you are too tired out to even think for yourself.

Then it's time to stop for a moment to smell the flowers.

I am so I will be

Above all the advices given by friends, I normally preferred going with my feel and sense. My logic may be off but I took more responsibility if the choice was one of mine. In that way I learned more and appreciated better in any fail or win situations.

Philophobia

Atychiphobia, fear of failure. A person afflicted with Atychiphobia considers the possibility of failure so intense that they choose not to take the risk. Often this person will subconsciously undermine their own efforts so that they no longer have to continue to try. - wikipedia

Philophobia, fear of being in love and falling in love. - wikipedia

Well that is me on the topic of love. Don't get me wrong,  I am single and happy. But that does not mean I stay single by choice. I admit I am always awkward around guys that I am interested in. I have the tenancies to hide my feelings and ignore the guy on purpose. I need to change and they say acknowledging the problem is the first step to changes. Problem is I acknowlege it years ago but never progress since. It is my Achilles heel and I go a niggling feeling that things will not change.  Alast alack the day is black, that is for today only. Next...

The 2013 Rally - I heard you

Dear PM Lee,

I like your speech last night. Instead of treating us like children handing us some treats and reprimanding us subtly that we should be more appreciative like previous years, this year you treated like adults. Yes, singaporeans have grown, children have become mature adults, no more sweets for us. We want to be included in plans and strategies make by government. That is a step I am proud to see from our government, and hopefully future actions will confirm the changes.

That said, I am still unsure of the middle income plans. These days where you see a bigger range of families falling into middle income, I feel there a need to zoom in and plan differently for the top and bottom of the tier. The frustration of being stuck in the upper middle tier for example,  where all the advantages slip you by but you are no where rich enough to feel comfortable. Can the government make us feel appreciated while we strive to contribute to our nation's progress? Hey we work hard too, encourage us to work harder.

Yours truly pleased,
Jas

The Alchemist of Life

As I enter a new chapter in life, that is pursuing a degree after 15 years of study free life, I am both  full of nervous energy and anticipation. I am not sure if I would do well but I vow to try my best. Reread The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Paulo is like a master in my teenage life. His story told of bravery and self making. Live what you dream and if you pursue hard enough, the whole universe will be aware and offers help. It sounded romantic back then.

But reading it again at 35 years old, I got a different feeling from the book. I came to appreciate Paulo and his teachings better. Its like I have been through some, , learned some and would like to share too. Who knows I might write a book in future.

An interesting event happened today. As my father was preparing food as offerings to my ancestors, he mentioned that he will pray to them to bless me to become 1st in class, 给你第一名. I told him to change the wish to good grades instead as I think being 1st is too bothersome and would means tireless nights of study. See I am getting lazy already. .. my mind and my will are definitely not in synch here.

A Dreamer

Today's news really upset me. On the headline is a country divided. Tragedy and bloodshed. Humans hurting each other. Imagine a free world...

Mosquitoes of the world, I declare war!

I hate x3 mosquitoes. And even this is a understatement. I have never heard of anyone who love them though. They suck your blood, leave you itchy and the possibility of infecting dengue or some other diseases. They contribution nothing good to the ecosystem so its fair to get rid of them for good.

One hot itchy night, my family was watching news on mosquitos and complaining away. So I posted them this question: if you are given 3 wishes by a Genie, would you use one to remove all mosquitos in the world. .....And of course they reply no. Selfish asses. And that, my friend, is why mosquitos still exist. Cos there is no selfless soul who would give up one precious wish for that to happen (or even world peace). Would you?
