Want vs Need EP 3: Toto and Mr Bean

Want – Forgot to bring my wallet today and I only have 2 dollars in my bag. I wanna win the 1.6 mil toto so bad.
Need – I need the 2 dollars to buy Mr Bean soya milk to quench my thirst.
Verdict – Bought toto instead. Obviously I was not that thirsty. I figured if I win, everything will become a need and not want anymore. Ha.
Want: 2 wins / Need: 0 win (great…)

Want vs Need EP 2: Taxi and Zumba

Want – I am late for Erich’s zumba class and I am thinking of getting a taxi.
Need – I really need to save up and stop taking taxi for lame reasons.
Verdict – Took a taxi in the end. It wasn’t really my fault. I was just standing at the bus stop when a taxi stopped in front of me. It was like the driver have telepathy. Or do you call this fate?
Want: 1 win / Need: 0 win (drats!)

The grass is always greener on the other side

The grass is always greener in the other side !

Once upon a time, there lived 2 little lambs, Happy and Grumpy,  on a small patch of greenland with the other lambs. Happy and Grumpy were the best of friends since young.  Happy was cheerful but not so bright. Grumpy on the other hand was smart but came with a short temper to match.

Their lives were simple, will enough grass for sharing. But the days do get a little repetitive with the same grass to feed on. So the little lambs got bored and began to grumble and whine a little more each day. At the beginning, it seemed ok, the rest of the lambs joined in with the complaints. After all it was true they were stuck in a situation where they won't die of hunger but had nothing much to look forward to each day.

Beyond the patch of greenland lied a slope which was filled with wild flowers and colorful plants each summer. The lambs saw the flowers bloom every spring and yearned to live among them. Since young they had heard wonderful legends of this flowerland but being creatures of habits, they are unwilling to venture out of their comfort zone to the wilderness.

One fine day, Grumpy woke up angrier than usual. She cannot pinpoint her problem but felt a huge amount of injustice for her being. In fact she felt so angry that she hated the greenland. "Why do I have to be stuck in a place so green and ugly?", she wondered. Now the other lambs may complaint often about their little greenland but they were still pretty proud of it. It may be a little boring here but not ugly! Soon Grumpy was isolated from the rest and that only increase her anger. So she decided to leave for the flowerland, a place of the unknowns and beautiful legends. Happy was frightened at first but being a ever loyal lamb, she decided to follow Grumpy least she got into trouble.

So began the adventure of these two unlikely friends. They went over and never came back. On side note, Happy woke up the next day and decided to live her own life so she got separated from Grumpy. I would say all for the better. THE END

(Writer's note: Ok fine. I wrote this story because a fellow Singaporean was complaining all day to me about how she hated living in Singapore. I would like to remind her that if she hates it so much, she can choose to migrate. But I just smiled weakly and nodded my head since we are only a day old acquaintance. But there is no end to this story. I gave up and decided to leave this day old relationship in pursuit of my own happiness.)

The Glass is half full EP 2: Common Face

I know I have a common face. I got mistaken for another person on a number of occasions by different people. While it can be frustrating, in another way, it means there are quite a number of girls as beautiful as me. Ha!

The Glass is half full EP 1: Prologue

Is the glass half empty or half full? is a common expression, used rhetorically to indicate that a particular situation could be a cause for optimism (half full) or pessimism (half empty)- Wikipedia
I am starting a series to log in episodes in my life to remind myself to be optimism and apply the power of attraction.

Singtel Great BreadTalk Rewards (if you do get around the T&C)

Yesterday, my brother showed me his Singtel rewards redemption. 1 for 1 local delights buns promotion for BreadTalk. Sounded like a good deal. That is IF we can get around the complicated terms and conditions. There were 12 freaking T&Cs for just a 1 for 1 bread promotion. And you need to present your NRIC and fill in an acknowledgement form before buying. You will have to sign an authorisation letter if somebody is buying on your behalf. And after all these T&Cs, it failed to mention the most important information, which is how many buns we are allowed to buy for the promotion?

After reading the letter, I told my brother that I am very confused. Is this letter offering free buns or free Singtel shares? Why the drama all for a bun?

(Updated 2 Oct 2013: Guess wat? The voucher can only allowed 1 bread redemption. What a complicated letter for a free bun huh?)
